Supply Chain Specialist

Our client, a well-known company in the industry in Simi Valley, CA is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will play a critical part in optimizing supply chain processes, ensuring efficient purchasing, and maintaining meticulous transaction records. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of supply chain management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Work in the ERP system ("RPS") to execute all systems-related duties.
  
• Analyze rates of sale and create reports to highlight optimal stock levels.
  
• Review weekly supply reports from vendors to identify incoming models and adjust orders to minimize warehousing time.
  
• Manage stock rotation opportunities with plumbing vendors to improve inventory turnover and margins. Collaborate with senior plumbing buyers and bath merchandisers to return unsellable models promptly.
  
• Review and analyze inventory reports to allocate available stock for open and new orders.
  
• Process requests from sales support to assign models for shipment, ensuring timely order fulfillment.
  
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses on slow-moving items to determine whether to return them or retain them for future sales.
  
• Collaborate with merchandisers and purchasing teams to classify models as Stock or Non-Stock.
  
• Determine appropriate stock levels for branch locations to ensure availability for customer pickups.
  

Skills:

• Strong negotiation skills, anticipating interests and achieving beneficial agreements.
  
• Effective planning and organizational skills, with attention to potential obstacles and progress monitoring.
  
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in distribution and/or retail environments.
  
• Prior experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
  
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles.
